Hi, I’m Taylor!
I’m a nature admirer, adventure seeker, and lover of all things health and wellness. My home base is in San Diego, California but I am often traveling around the map exploring cultures, meeting people, and taking in the great outdoors.
I studied Psychology and Childhood Development at the University of California Santa Cruz and was intrigued by how the mind works and how behaviors are formed. I began helping people in this capacity and spent many years working as a teacher and therapist.
Santa Cruz was a special time for me largely because it deepened my connection with nature. There was something special about being nestled between the ocean and the trees that was grounding, energizing, and humbling all at once. Here I began to understand the importance of spending time outside and how healing it was for the mind and body.
I was always very active growing up, but I was unaware of the deep connection between what I was putting into my body, and how I was feeling both physically and mentally. I had many unexplained health issues, got sick often, suffered from migraines, insomnia, and was prescribed numerous pills. I never really got an answer to why these things were happening, which sparked curiosity in me as I became eager to know more about the things that were contributing to my health.
Through my own experiences and desire to heal myself naturally, I became completely absorbed in the health and fitness world. Any free time I had was spent taking workout classes, creating new recipes, reading self-development books, and researching nutrition topics. At the time, I was pursuing a career as an Occupational Therapist but was not fully engaged, instead I was following a path that felt familiar and secure. I knew there was something out there that was more aligned with the things I was most passionate about, and I wanted to expand the capacity at which I was helping others.
After doing a lot of research and seeing many signs I decided to go with my gut, invest in myself, and take a leap towards my dream job. I enrolled in a health coaching program through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which opened my eyes to new ways of thinking and a holistic way of living. I became my own first client as I dove deep into my own health, established my core values, revisited my goals, clarified my intentions, and deepened my spiritual practice. I identified my strengths, worked on my areas of weakness, and decided that each and every day I was going to invest in my health.
My personal transformation eventually led me to creating Taylored Wellness; a space to share my ever-evolving wellness journey, as well as a coaching practice that empowers others to find their purpose and discover what makes them feel happy, healthy, and excited to wake up each morning.
Not only what we eat, but the way we move our bodies, our daily habits, our thought patterns, and our connectedness to world around us, all have a major impact on our well being. The past few years have been full of growth, self-reflection, and action towards creating the life I want to live! I am here to share with you all the things I’ve learned and to inspire you to find your path to a vibrant life.
